Gaza: An Israeli Genocide

I am not such a young man and I have experienced much in my life including war. There are some wars that are fought with belief in their purpose, honour in their actions and bravery of their armed forces. Joy for a victory with pride mingled with a deep sorrow for those who died defending their belief.

After eight years of the Bush administration Israel got all it wanted, I can't recall any US President in my time who treated Israel with love, respect and unwavering support as Bush did. But in those eight years Israel, its people, its honour and its morals have changed and the change is for the worse.

Had Bush put a warning word of advice as one would to a friend whose behaviour was demeaning his principles than he would be a true friend but Bush didn't and for eight years Israel pushed the limits in its relationship with the US and for eight years Bush gave them a virtual carte blanche to do as they saw fit.

The EU a moral coward of convenience went right along with America. But the world's citizens watching their nightly news and the one minute clips of horror as they watched how Israel were treating the Palestinians lowered their opinion bit by bit until inevitably a comparison was developing between the treatment of the Jews by the Nazis to the treatment of the Israelis to the Palestinians.

In the Diaspora the Jewish peoples gave so much to the world in moral and ethics, principles, science the list is never ending where has their uniqueness gone? I was In England and I remember how the whole of Europe celebrated when Israel defeated the joint Arab armies of Egypt, Syria, Jordan, the Palestinian militias and volunteers from other Arab countries in six days. Truly David defeated Goliath. They felt proud to be associated with such a brave and courageous people.

Today what do we see, the world's 4th. powerful army manning dozens of check points and humiliating old men and women. How did we feel when we saw that infamous news clip of an Israeli soldier killing a child hiding behind his father both defenceless. Is this the same army of 1967, are these the same people?

And when we see the might of the Israeli Army invade Lebanon a weak and feeble country chasing a rag tag militia, Hezbollah as a result of their almost daily skirmishes to return two of their soldiers who were kidnapped the invincible Israeli Army suffered 5 dead before returning home empty handed. Where was Israel of 1967?

Angered and determined to give hezballah a military lesson it wouldn't forget and gouded on by a self interested America who saw Hezballah as supplying men and weapons to Iraq, Israel invaded Lebanon. The war lasted for 36 days and the invinsable Irsaeli army looked very vulnerable .

Israel it is true caused over a thousand Lebanese to die the vast majority civilians and billions of dollars in destroyed infrastructure and after 36 days turn their backs to return to Israel empty handed their soldier still a prisoner of war, who now is the David and who now the Goliath?

And then the final shame of the IDF: The battle of Gaza. A sliver of desert completely under siege it was as if the whole population was in prison, unable to move, unable to feed itself, choosing which of their children would eat that day and who wouldn't.

No electricity, no water, no medicine and nowhere to run nowhere to hide. At that time Israel sank to its lowest level in my eyes and those of most of my friends.

Solely for political not strategic purposes it rained bombs down on defenceless Gaza like rain. With no weapons to defend themselves from the planes flying at high altitude, many were burned alive in their own homes as phosphorous bombs crashed down on them.

Someone needs to awaken the sleeping Jew in the Zionist and show it what a repulsive creature it has become. The Gaza citizens stayed standing even after all the destruction and death over 1,400 dead, over 600 children killed the price of 13 Israeli lives and it took 28 days and gained nothing.

Can you as a Jew feel proud today? Can you feel that you occupy the high moral ground?

I can't, I feel nothing but disgust. These Israeli, Zionist Jews are not my Jews, I want nothing to do with them. And I want it written in history what happened in Gaza while the world watched and not a word was said.

In the past it would be a Jew that would utter the first words of condemnation now they use weasel words to plead that they not be condemned for their actions.

Is this the behaviour of a fair war or is this a genocide?

And if it is a genocide Israel must be judged for the war crimes it has committed. It must curry no favour from America or the cowardly EU what I sawm what you saw what the wall saw must be told and justice must be served.
